Keep your eyes peeled for black bears, sea lions, harbour seals, and bald eagles who nest nearby!

Owner Stevie Turley and her team believe that women of all ages, shapes, and sizes should feel beautiful and empowered. Adventure awaits! Grab a delicious breakfast-to-go at Nesbitt’s Coffee in Campbellton, an easy walk from your hotel. With a menu of different hot sandwich options, this cafe’s signature choice features mortadella, cheddar, and gouda cheeses with basil, tomato, fresh cooked egg, and homemade YumYum Aioli on a bun. Pair it with a perfectly made espresso coffee for a spectacular roadtrip feast.
Up, Up, and Away!
Take your love to new heights with Air Nootka’s Hot Springs Cove tour. An hour west of Campbell River lies the village of Gold River, the base of operations for Air Nootka. A scenic flight will deliver you to the Maquinna Marine Park where a magical boardwalk through old growth forest leads to the hot springs themselves. Tiers of natural pools have formed in the rocky shoreline, trickling down from a small waterfall at the source to the ocean below. The temperature varies from piping hot at the top to tepid at the bottom. Shelters, a changing area, and outdoor toilets are well maintained.

Before you leave Gold River, make a pit stop at the Sea & Field Bistro where they serve local produce, foraged delicacies, and tasty treats made in-house. Sunset Paddle & Pedi
Enjoy an afternoon of downtime in your Chateau suite by the river before an evening of paddling and pampering with Island Joy Rides. Their “Paddle & Pedi” tour is a three hour sunset exploration by kayak along the Campbell River Estuary. Accessible for all ages and fitness levels, beginners are welcome. This experience includes:

Greet the Sun
Start your day early with a sunrise walk along the Tyee Spit to Dick Murphy Park. This 4.7 kilometre out-and-back paved pathway provides views of Quadra Island to the east and Campbell River North to the west. You’ll be able to see a whole new view of the estuary from your evening paddle! Keep your eyes peeled for sightings of eagles, seals, sea lions, float planes, and occasional whales charting a course through Discovery Passage.

You’ve worked up an appetite with your sunrise stretch, now hot-foot it to Daves’ Bakery in Willow Point for a fresh-made reward. Choose from a wide variety of sweet and savory treats crafted in-house from locally-sourced ingredients. This cute cafe is a local institution known for their yummy food and friendly customer service. Lounge on their patio with a steaming cup of coffee, or pack up your breakfast for a picnic on the beach.
A Distilled Experience
Shelter Point Distillery is home to some of the highest quality single malt whiskies in North America. Situated along the oceanside and surrounded by 380 acres of farmland, their selection of premium spirits are made with traditional methods that allow the Vancouver Island coastal terroir to shine. A guided tour culminates with a tasting where everyone gets their choice of three samples which include Whiskies, Sunshine Liqueur, and Hand Foraged Botanical Gin.

Important Considerations
- Make reservations. High season in Campbell River runs from May to October; tours and restaurants can book up quickly during that time. Be sure to book your tour and your dining experience ahead of time to enjoy the romantic holiday of your dreams!
- Are you fisherfolk? Bring your rod and tackle with you and cast a line from the banks of the Chateau Riverside! Be sure to pick up a fishing license if you plan on keeping your catch.
- Gold River has spotty cell service, and only basic amenities. Be sure to bring everything you need for your flight tour, including sunscreen, bottled water, snacks, and a fully-charged phone for photos!
- Water sandals are highly recommended for Hot Springs Cove as the rocks in and around the pools are quite slippery.
