Island Grind

Island Grind: This cafe became so popular that they just opened a second location in the Tyee Plaza in the downtown core! Known for its delicious coffee, friendly staff, and a great vibe, this is a go-to spot for coffee lovers.

here is no cafe like FoggDukkers. Known for its seaside location and rustic charm, FoggDukkers is the perfect place to storm watch in front of the fire or bask outside in the sunshine with a delicious cup of coffee. You truly can’t get better waterfront seating than this coastal cafe!

Stonehouse Teas

If coffee isn’t your thing, stop into Stonehouse Teas and choose from 120 different loose leaf teas. Locals also rave about their wicked brownies, famous carrot cake, and freshly baked scones. 

Tip: Order a ‘Campbell River Fog, ’ which uses a unique tea blend inspired by the taste and feel of Campbell River. You can even buy a bag of this loose leaf tea to sip on at home and remember your fond memories of Campbell River.

Whistlin’ Waffle

Travelling with kids? Be sure to eat at the Whistlin’ Waffle for breakfast. Here you’ll find sweet, savoury, and seasonal waffle toppings everyone is sure to enjoy. Residents particularly raved about their eggs benedict waffles with a bubble tea on the side. Yum! 

Java Shack

The Java Shack in Campbell River is what Central Perk is to Friends. In other words, this is where locals come to mix and mingle with good company. The coffee is strong, the waterfront views are lovely, and the food is always delicious. Try the Eggs Polleny, a unique and tasty dish you won’t find anywhere else. Lastly, because the Java Shack is a popular spot, we recommend coming early, as wait times can be long, and they tend to sell out of their most popular breakfast dishes.

Shot in the Dark

Locals swear Shot in the Dark makes the best and biggest sandwiches in town. These sandwiches are so big, most people only eat half and save the other half for later! Located on Shopper Row in downtown Campbell River, Shot in the Dark is a great spot to stop for lunch or coffee.

Potstickers N’ Curry

If you are looking for food with international flair, head to Potstickers N’ Curry, which is authentic Himalayan food. Their potstickers are hand-rolled, and their soups are made from scratch! Everything is always super tasty and affordable.

There’s not much we love more than going for a nice cold one after a day exploring the trails, beaches, and parks of Campbell River. Even better when they are enjoyed with friends. This is why we often hangout at to Beach Fire Brewery! Try a flight of their year-round and seasonal beers, and while you are here, order a snack or meal from their menu. Locals recommend the charcuterie board and their chipotle lime mussels. And if you have room at the end, be sure to try their chocolate stout cake for dessert.

Session Taproom & Kitchen

Session has developed a reputation around town for their delicious cocktails. Thanks to their extensive cocktail menu, and daily features, there should be a flavour to please anyone’s pallet. The Gin Lavender Lemonade and the Hibiscus mule are both a must-try! And if you are feeling hungry, their pizza and cheesecake are always a hit.

Dinner

Quay West

When people come to Campbell River, they typically want to indulge in locally caught seafood, and Quay West’s oceanfront restaurant is a great place to do this. Locals recommend their calamari, fish and chips, and the shrimp and lobster roll.

Anglers at Dolphins Resort is always a fan favourite with locals and visitors. Treat yourself to a fine dining experience with their delicious dinner menu. Take in the sunset over Discovery Passage, sip on an exquisite cocktail, and be wowed by their top-notch service and dishes.

Tip: On a budget? Go for brunch instead, which is equally delicious.

Imagine Thai

Who doesn’t crave Thai food now and again? And when those cravings hit, Campbell River residents head to Imagine Thai for those authentic rich flavours. 

Tip: Imagine Thai is open for lunch and dinner; however, seating is limited. So if the weather permits, order take-out and bring your picnic to the beach. Just remember to please dispose of your trash properly to help keep Campbell River clean for everyone to enjoy.

Dessert & Treats

As the name suggests, Dockside is known for its delicious Fish & Chips. But what tourists don’t know is that they also have “the best donuts in Campbell River” with rad flavours like Raspberry Buttercream, Lemon Love, and Maple Bacon. 

Steiner Bakery

A hidden gem that all our locals rave about is Steiner Bakery up on Dogwood. Some must-tries include the mint chocolate brownie, flourless chocolate cake, and their fantastic cinnamon buns; however, if it’s the cinnamon buns you are after, be sure to get there early, as they tend to sell out.

Discovery Pier Concession

A visit to Campbell River in the summertime isn’t complete without ice cream on the Discovery Pier. Grab your favourite flavour and enjoy it while watching the sunset over the Discovery passage.
