Artist Studios in Campbell River

In Campbellton, Mussels & More Pottery and Gift Shop is well-known for its eye-catching, coastal-inspired ceramics made in their on-site ceramic studio. Expect platters and plates, mugs and bowls, adorned with seashells, starfish, and barnacles in nautical hues of blue and sand. Their organic textures and oyster-shaped serving dishes are particularly popular.

In North Campbell River, Kimberly Thompson’s studio is open by appointment. Vibrant coastal scenes are captured in paint. You may even recognize some of the iconic locations.

Also to the North of town is Bob McLeod Glass, shared with Shannon Proctor-McLeod. See the incredible craft of glassblowing at their studio at Fiasco Glass (1851-F Coulter Road). They create wall hangings of glass, art pieces, vessels and vases, in eye-catching colours and effects. You can drop in but appointments are encouraged to ensure someone can host you.

Local artisans and makers can also be found at galleries and stores around the city, like The Rail Yard Market on Shopper’s Row, the Campbell River Art Gallery, the Crow’s Nest Artist Collective in Willow Point, Avenue for the Home, and Corners Framing.
