Head to Campbell River this Canada Day weekend to enjoy a whole host of events starting on June 30 and culminating in the renowned fireworks display over Discovery Passage on July 1.

Canada Day festivities in Campbell River offer something for everyone. Enjoy everything from live painting, carving, and cultural performances to lots of live music performances, marketplace vendors, a kids street festival, and even helicopter rides.

BC’s Largest Fireworks Display
In a continuing partnership, the City of Campbell River and Quality Foods plan to go all out and host the largest Canada Day fireworks in the whole of British Columbia. This year’s fireworks mark the 25th year of the partnership too—focused since day one on supporting the local Campbell River community and its guests. The Canada Day celebrations are completely free and in previous years have hosted 20,000 attendees. Quality Foods also provides a tasty celebratory treat in the form of their cupcakes to everyone in the audience of the opening ceremonies.

Three Days of Festivities
The fireworks are certainly a major draw for Canada Day but there’s plenty of other happenings to enjoy before they begin, starting a few days before the main event on July 1. Start your weekend in Willow Point to see the creations from the live chainsaw carving Transformations on the Shore event June 28-30.
On June 30, head to Downtown’s Spirit Square at 5 pm for a traditional salmon barbecue and the Downtown Tyee Chevrolet Buick GMC Car Show. Round off your day dancing to Creedence Clearwater Revival tribute band, Completely Creedence, at an energetic free live show that kicks off at 7 pm.
