The Campbell River Farmers Market is a weekly highlight for residents and visitors. An energetic outdoor affair that brings together suppliers, artisans, and creatives from around town as well as more remote communities from across the Strathcona Region. It’s a wonderful chance to stumble across products you won’t necessarily find online.

The success and popularity of the Campbell River Farmers Market was recently showcased by a government report that noted 29% of the Campbell River Farmers Market attendees are visitors from out-of-town compared to the usual 15% average. Previously located beside Discovery Pier, the City of Campbell River now opens the road in front of the Tidemark Theatre every Sunday from May to September for pedestrians and vendors.
Shopper’s Row provides a wonderfully accessible location right next to Spirit Square and in close walking distance to shops and restaurants. Campbell River Farmers Market is especially pedestrian-friendly, but there is also plenty of parking spots across from Spirit Square in Tyee Plaza and even valet bike parking.

What’s On At The Campbell River Farmers Market?
For 2024, over 35 farmers have signed up for a spot at the market—showcasing the abundance of the growing season on Vancouver Island. You can expect everything from mushrooms and seasonal, colourful vegetables to honey, freshly-laid eggs, and plant starts to take home for your own garden. Many stalls offer samples to try but if you’re feeling especially hungry there will also be a series of food trucks on-site.
Arts and culture also make a major appearance in 2024 with about 50 artisans signed up to sell a whole variety of items from essentials to art, jewellery, ceramics, and natural skincare. Alongside all the creatives selling their lovingly crafted pieces, the Campbell River Art Gallery also has regular pop-up activities near the gallery’ front entryway during the Farmers Market including live screen printing with participants from their Art Hive program.
Spirit Square also sets the stage for a live music series put on by Highway 19 Concerts—the perfect spot to take a pause, enjoy an ice cream, and soak up the community spirit every Sunday.
