Get ready to join thousands of enthusiastic community members and visiting guests for memorable evenings packed full of sound, colour, costumes, and activities. Make a whole night of it and eat locally beforehand at the likes of Nhau Vietnamese Kitchen, Beachfire Brewing, Session Taproom and Kitchen, Sushi Mong or Sushi Jo, Meraki, and Pho 54. All the events offer a free bike valet and there’s even free BC Transit starting at 5 PM.

Campbell River Live Streets 2024 begins with Blues Night on July 24. Formidable musician Garret T. Willie will be headlining—energetically sharing a mix of heartbreaking and hilarious stories through his chosen storytelling medium of music. He will be joined on stage by opening act Luke Blu Guthrie.

The July 31 event will be a Mardi Gras-style Masquerade Street Party. Expect the unexpected with jugglers, stilt walkers and more partaking in an extraordinary parade with music by Big Easy Funk Ensemble. Be inspired to dress up yourself in an eye-catching costume with matching mask—whether you make it at home, join the mask making workshop on July 27, or purchase one on the day with a donation to Habitat for Humanity. Dressing up not your thing? Come as you are anyway and enjoy the spectacle. Starting a little earlier at 5 pm, the August 7 event is Art Attack on the Row. The whole community is invited to get creative, together. Chalk paints and other interactive art materials will be available on site, along with other activities to keep the whole family entertained like a bouncy castle. More artistic activities take place on August 14 with the Art in Action event. Observe talented artists coming together to collaborate on their finished canvases. Artists will begin painting on one canvas, before moving on to add their own flair to the next. The night will end when each artist has returned to their original canvas, with the audience given the chance to vote for their favourite. Bring your dancing shoes on August 21 for an incredible Latin Night with music and dancing from 6:30pm. The Forbidden Dance Company will be ready to teach you the moves accompanied by beats from Orquesta Obatala. Solos, couples, and groups of all ages and abilities are invited.

The Big Finale: Five Alarm Funk

The big finale of the summer’s festivities takes place on Wednesday, August 28 with Music in the Night featuring the oh-so-fun Five Alarm Funk. This is sure to be an energy-filled evening so get ready to move to the music and immerse in the sound and engaging visual performance of this experienced group. Campbell River Live Streets are a collaboration between the City of Campbell River, Highway 19 Concerts and the Tidemark Theatre with thanks to the Province of British Columbia for their financial support.
