What is the Big Truck Parade in Campbell River?
Kicking off the weekend’s events is the annual Big Truck Parade, brought to you by the Downtown Campbell River BIA and the City of Campbell River. A classic Campbell River event that began in 2009 and signifies that the holiday season is well and truly in full swing. Local businesses deck their trucks with twinkling holiday lights with some drivers and passengers dressing up and focusing in on themes like the Grinch. Music and horn-honking accompany the drive from Willow Point along the oceanfront Island Highway to the heart of downtown as spectators wave.
A couple of eateries right beside the route allow for excellent viewing—head to Session Taproom and Kitchen for craft beer and their infamous pizzas or settle in at Fifty Parallel Tap and Grill for Greek food and plenty of other options from pasta to burgers.
