The BC Bike Race returns to Vancouver Island for the summer of 2024. This single-track bike race is on the island from July 1 through 7 and encompasses different stages on incredible single-track trails from Victoria to Campbell River. It’s an opportunity to show off your bike skills while immersing in our island’s forests, moss-covered mountains, and beautiful coastal views. Riders can take off in solo categories or as a group and usually find themselves riding for up to 6 hours a day; a mental and physical feat they’ll cherish.
Campbell River is excited to be hosting the Day 6 stage of BC Bike Race—showcasing the best of our mountain biking trails in the Snowden Demonstration Forest. The BC Bike Race is always a popular event for participants and spectators alike. Far more than simply a race, it’s the chance to experience each of the towns the event traverses through, bringing the international biking community together across our coastline.
Where to Stay for the BC Bike Race
In Campbell River, you’ll want to not only take in the race itself, but also make the most of our waterfront location for wildlife spotting, and refuel at our culinary hotspots. Lay your head at the Comfort Inn & Suites, Coast Discovery Inn, or Naturally Pacific Resort (opening in Spring 2024) and make the most of hot tubs and spa facilities. If you’re looking for home comforts and a more unique stay, choose from one of our cozy guesthouses or cabin-style accommodations like the waterfront Dolphin’s Resort and historic Haig-Brown House B&B or Money Pennies Bed & Breakfast which is just a walk away from all the amenities and action of downtown. Visit our Accommodations page for more information on where to stay in Campbell River.
Celebrate Campbell River-style
Post-race, everywhere from Session Taproom and Beach Fire Brewing to 50 Parallel Tap & Grill and the atmospheric Riptide Marine Pub will be ready to host you for a well-earned bite and a celebratory drink. You’ll want to keep an ear out for any other events that will add to the atmosphere and showcase Campbell River’s community while you’re here too. Campbell River’s streets come alive in the summer months with outdoor yoga, live music in Spirit Square, and the regular CR Live Streets a series of themed evening events.
